Maj Gen Syed Anis Akbar, HI(M) (Retd)

Maj Gen Syed Anis Akbar (Retd), HI(M), is a distinguished Pakistani military veteran and corporate leader with nearly four decades of experience in strategic logistics, procurement, and operations management. During his military career, he served as Director General Procurement at Army Headquarters, Vice Chief of Logistics Staff, and Commander of Logistics Area Multan, overseeing large-scale supply chain and procurement operations. He is a graduate of the Command and Staff College, Quetta, and the National Defence University, Islamabad, with specialized training in strategic studies, national-level logistics, and war studies. For his meritorious service, he was awarded the Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), one of Pakistan’s highest military honors.

Since retirement, Maj Gen Anis Akbar has successfully transitioned into corporate leadership, serving as Executive Director of Army Welfare Trust (Services). In these roles, he provides strategic direction, ensures corporate governance, and oversee operations that bridge military precision with business efficiency. His core expertise spans risk management, organizational leadership, and large-scale operational planning, making him a pivotal figure in both defense-related enterprises and civilian corporate sectors.

Maj Gen Muhammad Ahmed Malik (Retd)

Maj General Muhammad Ahmed Malik (Retd), Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), was commissioned on 6 September 1990 as 2nd Generation Guides C (Frontier Force) Officer. He is a graduate of Command & Staff College Quetta and National Defence University Islamabad. He also attended Programme & Project Management Post Graduate Course (PPM) for NATO and Partner Nations at Regional Department of Defence Resources Management Studies (DRESMARA), Romania. The General Officer has represented Pakistan Army in United Nations Mission at Congo (MONUC) as Military Observer and Senior National Representative (SNR) at US CENTCOM, Tampa, Florida, USA.

General Officer has a varied experience of Command, Staff and Instructor Assignments. He has served as Brigade Major 77 Infantry Brigade and 5 Armoured Brigades, Commandant Guides Cavalry (Frontier Force), Colonel Staff 1 Armoured Division, Commander 9 Armoured Brigade, Commandant School of Armour and Mechanised Warfare, General Officer Commanding 1 Armoured Division, Director General Armoured Corps and Pakistan National Guards. His instructor assignments include Group Officer & Group Commander Armament Group in School of Armoured and Mechanised Warfare and Directing Staff Command and Staff College Quetta. After retirement, General Officer took over as Executive Director (Aviation and Financial Services) in Army Welfare Trust on 26 February 2026.

Malik Riffat Mahmood

Malik Riffat Mehmood is currently working as Group Chief Finance Officer of Askari Group of Companies – Army Welfare Trust. He is a seasoned finance professional with diversified working experience in multiple industries including Pharmaceutical, Aviation, Textile, Oil and Gas and Sugar. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. He has hands-on experience of strategic and financial planning coupled with proven ability of translating strategic vision into practical action plans.

Tariq Hameed

Mr. Tariq Hameed is a Fellow of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries, UK and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, USA. He graduated from the University of Punjab (Pakistan) with a first-class degree in Mathematics and Economics. He was associated with Mercer Ltd (a leading international actuarial consultancy) and has over 40 years’ experience in the pensions consultancy (including M&As and change management) and insurance industry in the UK, Canada, Middle East and Pakistan. He retired as a Principal with Mercer in 2016.

Prior to joining Mercer, He worked with the Credit & Commerce Insurance Company (Saudi) Ltd. in Jeddah and with the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan (actuarial department). He was also the Executive Chairman of the Institute of Islamic Banking & Insurance, London.

Ayesha Rafique

Ms. Ayesha Rafique is currently working with Edotco Pakistan Private Limited as Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs. She is a Corporate and Commercial Counsel and has over 22 years’ experience as external and in-house counsel. In her career apart from working in various law firms she has also been working for Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited and TCS Holdings Private Limited as Company Secretary and Head of Legal. She has an extended experience in Corporate Legal matters, litigations, Employment/ Labour law, Taxation and legal issues which include restricting and organization of companies. She holds LLM from University of Aberdeen in UK.

Muhammad Noman Akhter, FCA

Muhammad Noman Akhter is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) with over 24 years of diverse experience across both the public and private sectors. He is a Director at Gratus Consultants, specializing in corporate and financial advisory, and also leads Aabpara Residency’s real estate projects. Additionally, he serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Arif Habib Dolmen REIT Management Company. A seasoned trainer and mentor, Mr. Akhter teaches Corporate Law in the Institute of Business Administration (IBA)’s Diploma Program and provides guidance to Chartered Accountancy students at KnS Institute of Business Studies. Previously, he spent over a decade at the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), where he supervised Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), Modarabas, and insurance companies. As Director at SECP, he played a key role in regulating listed companies in Pakistan, with a strong focus on corporate governance and compliance.

His notable contributions include:

  • Serving on a high-profile Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for a money laundering case.
  • Acting as a forensic expert for the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
  • Contributing to Power Sector audits and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) negotiations.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Akhter led internal audits at Pakistan Cables Limited and gained extensive experience at PwC (A.F. Ferguson & Co.) and KPMG (Taseer Hadi Khalid & Co.). He remains deeply committed to promoting good governance within Pakistan’s corporate and financial sectors, striving to enhance transparency and accountability.

With a track record of leadership along with an in depth knowledge of the insurance and Financial Service Industry, Jehanzeb is known to be a dynamic and visionary leader, who has a passion for starting and growing companies and developing win-win partnerships. He is credited with the development of distribution and organizational strategy as Chief Strategy Officer at Adamjee Life Assurance Co. Ltd. Mr. Jehanzeb holds an MBA from City University London and certification in Strategy from Harvard Business School, USA.
